Richard began his life as a men’s Kenneth Cole slim-fit button-down, office-ready and always five minutes early. Carefully taken apart stitch by stitch in New York, Richard has been thoughtfully reconfigured by hand into a deep blue skirt with soft drape, crisp structure, and an unexpected sense of ease. This transformation is part of the Shkirt practice: converting men’s shirts into one-of-a-kind skirts through complete deconstruction and reconstruction. Finished with French seams and designed for movement, Richard retains his tailored origins while settling into a more relaxed, wearable form. He spent years trying to look sharp. Now he actually feels it.

Richard is made to fit you. The skirt can hug waists from approximately 20" to 32" and may feature four to eight buttons along the waistband, added during the tailoring process to allow for flexible, incremental adjustment and a precise fit. Share your measurements below, and Richard will be individually tailored to your body. Each Shkirt is a one-of-a-kind piece, made by hand in our New York atelier with a focus on fit, finish, and longevity.

Richard prefers a warm or cold wash with similar colors and a gentle hang dry.

Richard comes with Lifetime Care. We offer complimentary repairs for craftsmanship-related issues and invite clients to return their skirts or Shkirts for repair, alteration, or responsible recycling as part of our zero-waste commitment. Clients are responsible for shipping costs.
