Description
Introducing George, the Shkirt. A skirt made from a shirt.
George features an adjustable waistband that accommodates waists from 25.85–30 inches (65.75–75.5 cm) and can be worn high or low on the waist. Sculptural draping, pleats at the back, and French seams complete the design.
George began life as a single 100% cotton purple men's button-down shirt. Carefully taken apart, stitch by stitch, the shirt was reconstructed by hand into a one-of-a-kind skirt. Nothing is cut away, discarded, or wasted.
The original shirt lives on: the chest pocket is now the side pocket, the collar and french cuffs form the waistband, and the sleeves become the front panels.
Each Shkirt is handmade in New York and can be custom tailored upon request.
