Luca

Luca began his life in Milan as a men’s button-down shirt, crafted by Lorenzo Calvino in an elegant light yellow and rust orange plaid cotton-polyester blend. Sourced in Valencia, Spain, and carefully taken apart stitch by stitch in New York, Luca has been thoughtfully reconfigured by hand into a sculptural yet breezy skirt. This process is part of the Shkirt practice: transforming men’s shirts into one-of-a-kind skirts through complete deconstruction and reconstruction. Luca features subtle ruching at the back, an adjustable waistband, a single side pocket, and is finished with French seams. Rather than cutting new pieces, Luca’s original pattern components were preserved and rearranged, honoring the garment’s past while giving it an entirely new form.

Luca is made to fit you. The skirt can hug waists from approximately 20" to 33" and may feature four to eight buttons along the waistband, added during the tailoring process to allow for flexible, incremental adjustment and a precise fit. Share your measurements below, and Luca will be individually tailored to your body. Each Shkirt is a one-of-a-kind piece, made by hand in our New York atelier with a focus on fit, finish, and longevity.

Luca prefers a warm or cold wash with similar colors and a gentle hang dry.

Luca comes with Lifetime Care. We offer complimentary repairs for craftsmanship-related issues and invite clients to return their skirts or Shkirts for repair, alteration, or responsible recycling as part of our zero-waste commitment. Clients are responsible for shipping costs.
