Ralph

Ralph began his life as a large men’s gingham button-down shirt by Ralph Lauren, woven in shades of purple and blue. Made from soft cotton and sourced in Los Angeles, the original shirt was carefully taken apart stitch by stitch in New York. Through the Shkirt practice of complete deconstruction and reconstruction, Ralph has been thoughtfully reconfigured by hand into a fluid, swingy skirt with an easy drape and understated confidence.

Ralph features an adjustable waistband, a single side pocket, and is finished with French seams. Rather than cutting new pieces, the shirt’s original pattern components were preserved and rearranged, allowing the gingham pattern and lightweight cotton to guide the final silhouette. The result is a relaxed yet refined Shkirt that balances softness with structure.

Ralph is made to fit you. The skirt can hug waists from approximately 20" to 35" and may feature four to eight buttons along the waistband, added during the tailoring process to allow for flexible, incremental adjustment and a precise fit. Share your measurements below, and Ralph will be individually tailored to your body. Each Shkirt is a one-of-a-kind piece, made by hand in our New York atelier with a focus on fit, finish, and longevity.

Ralph prefers a warm or cold wash with similar colors and a gentle hang dry.

Ralph comes with Lifetime Care. We offer complimentary repairs for craftsmanship-related issues and invite clients to return their skirts or Shkirts for repair, alteration, or responsible recycling as part of our zero-waste commitment. Clients are responsible for shipping costs.
