Introducing Lewis, the Shkirt. A skirt made from a shirt.

Lewis features an adjustable waistband that accommodates waists from 25–29.25 inches (64–73.5 cm) and can be worn high or low on the waist. Sculptural draping, pleats at the back, and French seams complete the design.

Lewis began life as a single 100% cotton purple-and-white striped men's button-down shirt. Carefully taken apart, stitch by stitch, the shirt was reconstructed by hand into a one-of-a-kind skirt. Nothing is cut away, discarded, or wasted.

The original shirt lives on: the chest pocket is now the side pocket, the collar and cuffs form the waistband, and the sleeves become the front panels. The embroidered initials LAK on the cuff remains as a subtle reminder of the garment's first life.
